Serena Williams is a champion when it comes to traveling and having fun, just as she was on the tennis court, where she dominated her rivals for years.
The American tennis legend has been a power force in the world of entrepreneurship and venture capitalism, and her accomplishments are arguably even more impressive than her sports career.
Since retiring in 2022, Serena launched her own businesses and backed others in a range of industries, including sports recovery, entertainment, clothing, makeup, and jewelry. Williams has become an investor in 85 companies, 14 of which have achieved unicorn status as startups.
Serena Williams hilariously snubs gift from flamenco dancer
Serena Williams is enjoying the summer by traveling with her husband and her two daughters – Alexis Ohanian, Olympia, and Adira – through Europe including countries like Italy and Spain. It was in the latter where the tennis legend showed up dressed head to toe in a fiery pink flamenco look, ready to embrace the Spanish spirit during a live performance.
Standing beside a real flamenco dancer, Williams was handed a traditional pañuelo to keep dancing. While the dancer smiled brightly, Serena looked at the gift… and casually snubbed it without missing a beat, showing her skills abroad.
It was all in good fun. Serena played along with big smiles, and later posted the clip with the caption “What I ordered vs. What I got.” Even when she’s not on the court, she knows how to steal the show and make the most out of life around the world.
Serena’s next plans
Serena Williams has made it in the world of sports and has done so alongside her sister, Venus. Her story has inspired thousands of athletes and empowered women who fight for their dreams, setting up the standard for female athletes.
After the acclaimed Oscar-nominated film “King Richard“, where they tell their own story and were executive producers along with their half-sister Isha Price, Serena and Venus would be in a similar project.
The three are teaming up again for another heartwarming tennis story, The Match. The film will be an adaptation of Bruce Schoenfeld’s book “The Match: Althea Gibson & Angela Buxton: How Two Outsiders – One Black, the Other Jewish – Forged a Friendship and Made Sports History”.
