Alexis Ohanian has turned what many might consider mundane weekend duties into magical family memories. His now-beloved Papa Pancake tradition is not only going strong, it’s evolving-this time, with his daughter Olympia stepping into the spotlight.
Just last month, Ohanian perfectly summed up this new stage of life in a tweet that had fellow parents nodding in agreement.
“Growing up is being the 41-year-old making Sunday breakfast at 7 am, feeding your kids, playing with them, cleaning up-all while your retired dad + step mom are still ‘waking up’ to come over. What a life!” he said.
Stealing the limelight
What began as a sweet bonding moment between father and daughter has become a full-blown family ritual. The Pancake Sundays, once just a father-daughter cooking session, have now grown into something more-with seven-year-old Olympia increasingly taking charge.
In a recent Instagram carousel, Ohanian offered fans an intimate peek at how their weekend tradition has grown.
His simple caption, “Weekend!!!” belied a rich series of moments: the first image showed Olympia on the golf course, confidently swinging away.
Then came a shot of pancake prep-flour, eggs, and all the kitchen essentials lined up with precision. The third image revealed a pancake already golden and bubbling on the griddle.
But perhaps the biggest surprise came next. Olympia was manning an outdoor grill, butter in one hand, steak in the other, with flames flickering beneath. A fresh bowl of strawberries and a later slide showing the steak-now beautifully oven-roasted-rounded out what could only be described as a feast fit for champions.
Even last week, Ohanian delighted his followers with a video of Olympia confidently flipping pancakes. He captioned it: “Jr was working that griddle this morning! #PapaPancakes about to be OlympiaPancakes,”
While Olympia‘s culinary talents take center stage, her kind heart has also left an impression. During a recent fishing trip with her dad, a moment of unexpected tenderness caught Ohanian off guard. He hasn’t stopped beaming since.
