Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian aren’t just known for owning red carpets and dominating their respective industries-they’re also quietly winning at parenting.
The couple recently attended the Robin Hood Foundation gala, a glittering event held at New York’s Javits Center on May 12. The annual fundraiser, known for drawing celebrities and business moguls alike, wrapped up late. But that didn’t stop the pair from heading straight home to their two daughters.
Hours later, after just a few hours of sleep, Ohanian posted a candid update on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Late night with @RobinHoodNYC – we got home at like 3am but the girls needed their parents and grateful to get to wake up with them (put the celsius in my veins this morning).”
Back to reality with a mani-pedi in tow
Instead of sleeping in, the tech entrepreneur revealed he had father-daughter plans the next day: a manicure-pedicure outing with 7-year-old Olympia, ahead of a family weekend trip. For Ohanian, moments like these seem just as important-if not more so-than any boardroom or ballroom.
He also hinted at the family’s upcoming travel plans, keeping details vague but the tone light and affectionate. It’s a small window into the kind of grounded, present parenting he and Serena prioritize, despite their ultra-public lives.
It’s not the first time Ohanian has opened up about being intentional with fatherhood. In a clip shared earlier this year from his appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, he discussed the need for technology-and specifically social media-to evolve toward deeper, more human connections.
“Social media 2.0 won’t be about likes or views,”he posted. “It’ll be building real connections… The future I’m working on is one my daughters deserve.”
The message is clear: whether he’s at a gala in a tux or in a nail salon with his daughter, Alexis Ohanian is thinking about legacy-and what kind of world Olympia and baby Adira will grow up in.
Meanwhile, Serena has kept a lower profile, focusing on family and her growing business ventures. After stepping away from professional tennis in 2022, she launched Will Perform, a wellness brand geared toward recovery and longevity, and continues to show up for moments that matter.
From NYC galas to early-morning routines, the Williams-Ohanianhousehold seems to run on love, balance-and maybe just a little bit of caffeine.
