Sebastian Fundora retains his titles on a quiet night against Chordale Booker

The Mexican-American fighter, Sebastian Fundora, was too much of a piece and easily defeated Chordale Booker in his first defense of his super welterweight belts from the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) on Saturday at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fundora only needed four rounds to finish the fight and it ended at 2:51 minutes of the fourth round when the referee stopped the fight, after a previous knockdown of Booker, who could no longer even defend himself from the onslaught of his opponent.

A victory easily worked for Fundora

The champion cemented his success by using his long jab to get into his opponent’s guard, who at first managed to land good hooks, but did not have the strategy or the condition necessary to match the difference in reach with the champion. Booker is only 5-foot-9, while Fundora is 6-foot-5.

Fundora tilted the fight in the third round, when the champion managed to effectively place several downward straights, which paved the way for him to increase the frequency of his uppercut, his most forceful blow.

For the fourth round, Booker lost all his mobility and made things easy for the champion, who managed to send him to the canvas thanks to a long combination of punches. The challenger beat the count, but ‘Inferno Tower’ smelled blood and went after his opponent to complete the job.

With the result, Fundora, 27, improved her record to 22-1-1, with 14 knockouts and after the victory reiterated her desire to become the undisputed champion of the division, as her sister Gabriela has done, who is the youngest woman to achieve this feat, dominating the featherweight division

For his part, Booker left his professional record at 23-2-0, with 11 knockouts.
