The Seattle Seahawks claimed their first victory of the season, dominating the Kansas City Chiefs in a game where Andy Reid’s team never found its rhythm. The Seahawks played with intensity and authority, sending a strong message ahead of the upcoming season.

In a steady downpour in Seattle, the host team secured their first victory of the season, highlighted by two touchdown passes to Jake Bobo. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs suffered their second consecutive preseason defeat, following a previous loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Seahawks take control from the opening whistle

What was expected to be a dominant performance by the Chiefs turned out differently, as the Seattle Seahawks came out strong from the opening whistle. The Hawks’ intensity was evident in the first quarter, catching Andy Reid’s team by surprise.

Just five minutes into the game, Zach Charbonnet rushed through the middle for a crucial 15-yard touchdown, igniting the crowd and giving the Seahawks an early lead over the Chiefs. The field goal was confirmed, and the rest of the first quarter remained intense, though neither team added to the score.

At the start of the second quarter, the Seahawks kept up their momentum, quickly adding another touchdown on a 12-yard strike from Jake Bobo. The Chiefs responded, and with 9:54 left on the clock, Gardner Minshew connected with Robert Tonyan for a 1-yard touchdown, putting the visitors on the board. Both teams successfully converted their field goals.

The Seahawks extended their lead as Brandon Pili recorded a safety with a tackle in the end zone, adding two more points. Then, with just 34 seconds remaining, Jake Bobo caught a stunning 12-yard touchdown pass from Drew Lock, capping off the team’s impressive performance. The extra point was successfully converted, finalizing the score for the quarter.

Seahawks maintain dominance through the final quarters

After halftime, the Kansas City Chiefs came out pressing, quickly adding three points on a 34-yard field goal by Harrison Butker within the first five minutes. However, the Seahawks remained dominant, and with just five minutes left in the third quarter, Damien Martinez powered through for a 1-yard touchdown, with Jason Myers converting the extra point.

In the final quarter, the Seahawks showed no signs of slowing down. Their momentum carried through as Jason Myers drilled a spectacular 23-yard field goal, extending Seattle’s lead to 33 points. Meanwhile, the Chiefs struggled to respond, remaining stuck at just 10 points as the home team closed out a commanding victory.

For one of the highlights of the night, Skyy Moore caught the ball after Michael Dickson’s punt and sprinted 88 yards to score a touchdown. The Chiefs narrowed the gap slightly, reaching 16 points, but the Seahawks maintained clear control. The home team celebrated an important preseason victory, showcasing their dominance early in the season.

The Seahawks’ energy electrified the 68,614 fans in attendance, who left the stadium thrilled as their team clearly dominated the game. Next up, Seattle will face the Green Bay Packers in their next preseason match, while the Kansas City Chiefs look to bounce back against the Chicago Bears.
