2025 was an exceptional year for Scottie Scheffler. The American not only solidified his status as one of the biggest names in golf today, but he also managed to tie one of Tiger Woods’ legendary records at just 29 years old.
Scheffler was unbeatable in 2025. The Ridgewood, New Jersey native won six titles that year, twice as many as his closest competitors.
His victories included the PGA Championship and the British Open, in addition to finishing in the top 20 in all 25 tournaments he competed in this year. This includes 17 top-ten finishes.
All of this despite starting the year late due to a cut on his right hand, the result of a kitchen accident. The injury forced Scheffler to miss nearly two months of competition. Even so, he managed to equal Woods’ record.
Scheffler is the PGA Golfer of the Year for the fourth consecutive year
The setbacks didn’t prevent Scheffler from winning the Jack Nicklaus Trophy for the fourth year in a row. This award is decided by player votes at the end of the season.
With this victory, Scheffler tied Woods’ record-Tiger took home the trophy four years in a row between 1999 and 2003-earning praise from friends and rivals alike.
“Scottie’s consistent level of success has been nothing short of spectacular as he continues to chase history on the Tour,” said Brian Rolapp, CEO of the PGA Tour. “We’re excited to see what he will deliver in 2026.”
Scheffler led 17 statistical categories this year, from tee-to-green accuracy to converting bogeys to birdies or better, with 36%.
Sponsors are thrilled with Scottie’s success
After taking home the coveted award, congratulations poured in for Scheffler. Among the first was one from one of his main sponsors, the sportswear company Nike.
The manufacturer quickly uploaded a Christmas-themed congratulatory video to Instagram, which ends with Scottie placing his fourth trophy on his mantelpiece.
Nike captioned the video: “The More the Merrier,” accompanied by the message “this season, @scottie Scheffler makes more from on the mantle.” Neither the brand nor the fans can wait to see what Scheffler has in store for next year.
