Savannah James announces a new initiative for Los Angeles called United in Action as the wife of the Lakers‘ LeBron bids to help pick up the community after the devastating wildfires throughout January.
The blazes began on January 7 and raged for the better part of a month until they were finally extinguished on the 31st, laying waste to large parts of San Diego County and the metropolitan area.
Over 200,000 people were displaced and forced to evacuate whilst over 18,000 homes and buildings were torched, with an estimated 30 people tragically being killed in the fires spanning 57,000 acres.
Indiscriminately affecting rich and poor alike, the celebrities of LA have announced a series of plans to try to support their communities and to help get back them on their feet after the devastation, with Savannah becoming the latest to do so.
Alongside April McDaniel, the pair announced the United in Action initiative, in association with Let It Break and Crown + Conquer, which aims to provide relief to those impacted by the blazes.
“Even after the dust has settled,” the pair said via Instagram Stories. “We are still here for our community.
“Thank you to all for coming together.”
What is Let It Break?
Let It Break is James‘ own venture, which partners with McDaniels, and serves as a personal development platform and community for women according to Fortune, focusing on empowerment.
It aims to do so by promoting self-awareness and conversation, as well as noticeable impacts within the community so change is not only talked about but is also felt in the community too.
It’s unclear how involved LeBron is, as the billionaire has enough money to pay for and to fund the project. He does not seem to be involved with any kind of public appearances on behalf, however.
