Savannah James, wife of LeBron James, made her presence felt on social media with a strong message in support of her son, Bronny James as the young Los Angeles Lakers star aims to kick start his budding NBA career.

The young talent has been making waves in the G League but has struggled when he’s returned to the Crypto.com Arena leaving fans wondering if he has what it takes to play at American basketball’s highest level.

However, his mother was quick to celebrate the 20-year-old’s standout performance in his most recent game as he came up big against the Valley Suns with an outstanding 24-point game, along with five rebounds and six assists.

Bronny, playing for the South Bay Lakers, also added shooting 10-of-16 from the field, with two steals, and a block on February 24 and was notably highly efficient from beyond the arc, sinking 4-of-6 three-point attempts.

Despite not being physically present at the game, Savannah James made sure to show her unwavering support and took to Instagram to post a graphic highlighting Bronny’s impressive stats from the night, accompanied by a gif of a man nodding in approval.

It subtle yet powerful response to those doubting her son’s abilities as Bronny continued his fine G League form, coming off the back of an electrifying performance in his previous appearance on February 7, where he recorded 28 points.

Savannah was in attendance for that Bronny G League game, witnessing his standout performance firsthand.

However, she was absent on Saturday but still made sure to cheer him on from afar. Her social media activity reinforced the message that she fully believes in her son’s potential and progression in the sport.

Bronny continues chipping away

For Bronny, this game served as another significant confidence boost to build on the signs of progress he’s finally making alongside his father in Los Angeles for the NBA‘s most historic franchise at the Staples Center.

Before the NBA’s All-Star break, he registered a career-high performance for the Lakers by scoring nine points in just eight minutes of play against the Utah Jazz.

Though the Lakers suffered a 131-119 defeat, Bronny’s efficiency-hitting 3-of-4 shots-was a testament to his growing comfort at the professional level.

Following this, his minutes on the court were limited, leading the Lakers to make a strategic decision. Instead of travelling with the team to Denver, the organisation prioritised his development by allowing him to continue honing his skills in the G League.

He could next be in action on February 25 when the Lakers welcome the Dallas Mavericks to the Crypto.com Arena from 14:00 ET/11:00 PT. It will see Luka Doncic face off against his former side from the Lone Star State.
