For Wrexham, it was vital to win at home to stay in the hunt for one of the Championship’s opportunities to be promoted to the Premier League and thus write the most historic chapter in football this century. The Welsh side were promoted to the fourth division in 2023, the third division in 2024 and the second division in 2025. In three years they climbed three divisions!

During the broadcast, the actor could not hide his emotions at the goals of the triumph. Nathan Broadhead opened the scoring in the 25th minute, which caused the euphoria of the Deadpool star. More than 60 minutes had to pass for him to relax from the nerves he felt about the interest in taking all three points, but it was not as he imagined.
Reynolds wanted to score a second goal for his team, which he did, albeit fortuitously; Swansea striker Liam Cullen sent the ball into his own net by accidental deflection in a set-piece play.

After 37 rounds of matches, the Welsh side are in sixth place overall. Of the 24 teams competing in the Championship, Wrexham are among the top six looking for the coveted ticket to the Premier League.

Wrexham and Reynolds are clinging to the goal of direct promotion, but they also embrace the possibility of the third ticket in the playoffs. With nine games remaining, they are going all out for promotion to the Premier League and their fourth division promotion in three years.
