Ryan Garcia has confirmed that he has officially signed a contract to challenge Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title, with the fight scheduled for February 21, 2026.
Garcia revealed the news via a video on social media, holding up what appears to be a WBC contract and declaring: “I’m going to be fighting for the real WBC championship belt … Mario Barrios, I’m coming.”
The fight comes after a turbulent period for Garcia. Earlier this year, he suffered a loss to Rolando “Rolly” Romero. He has also faced controversy outside the ring, including a past suspension from the WBC that was recently lifted – clearing the way for this title opportunity.
