Just when fans were getting ready to see the two champions go head-to-head, a new figure has burst onto the scene: Ryan Garcia, whose taunts on social media and interviews have ignited a flame that could completely alter the plans.

Although negotiations with Saudi boxing genius Turki Alalshikh are advanced and Stevenson has accepted the terms, Lopez’s track record, having backed out of fights in the past, such as his bout with Devin Haney, breeds distrust.
