Ciara recently opened up about her husband Russell Wilson‘s surprisingly active role in her friend group, describing the former NFL quarterback as “nosy” during a conversation on Apple Music’s Level Up Radio with friends Kelly Rowland and La La Anthony.
The trio laughed over Wilson’s habit of chiming in on their conversation threads – especially when relationship topics pop up.
Rowland joked that Wilson often barges into their chats, saying “yo, yo, yo!” just to ask questions. Anthony chimed in too: “He’s all in my business,” she said, describing how Wilson offers his perspective – particularly when it comes to her love life.
But rather than being off-putting, Ciara explained that his involvement comes from a caring place.
“He will check me,” she admitted. “Like, ‘Sis, this is what you’re doing wrong.'” According to Ciara, Wilson’s input isn’t about controlling anyone; she says it’s rooted in care.
She pointed out that she always has the choice to share what she wants – or to not share at all – and he respects that.
His curiosity underlines deeper connection
Ciara emphasized that his inquisitiveness actually strengthens their bond, not weakens it. Rather than shut him out, she values his presence in her life and social circle.
Whether he’s stuck in a group chat or weighing in on emotional topics, she sees his “nosiness” as part of his support system – and not a violation of boundaries. For Ciara, it’s just another way he shows that he’s paying attention.
