Rolly Romero can’t stand it and threatens to kneel a fan who disrespected Gervonta Davis

In 2022, Rolando Romero succumbed to Gervonta Davis, which at the time generated great anger and frustration in him to have to accept his defeat. Inexperience was what spoke and with the passage of time the anger he felt was displaced by the sensibility of someone who had matured.

“Thanks to that fight, I now understand it a little better, and like I said, not even in boxing. I owe it to him, because it’s more important to me than money,” Rolly Romero said on Cigar Talk last year.

Rolly Romero and his loyalty to “Tank” Davis

When he had a clear head, and perhaps was well advised, Rolly Romero moved up in weight, defeated Ismael Barroso by ninth-round technical knockout to win the WBA super lightweight title in 2023. He then fell again, this time against Isaac Cruz last year, but went back to training and earned a victory over Manuel Jaimes.

He is currently reported to be ready to headline a major card in the Riyadh Season against Ryan Garcia next May, and because of the way things have gone in his life, he feels he owes a lot to Gervonta Davis for the lesson learned.

This became clear when he learned that a stranger on the street was trying to “do a fade” (start a fight) with Tank Davis and could not stand idly by.

Unlike Tank, who remained remarkably calm during the encounter, Rolly felt he would have handled it differently if it had been him.

Clocked N’ Loaded shared a video of their conversation with Romero on X. “Rolly Romero was asked what he would do if someone on the street approached him and wanted to do a fade, and his response was CRAZY!” read the caption.

“I mean, I wouldn’t have been waiting. That bastard wants to make a quick buck. Fuck that shit,” he commented bluntly. But that wasn’t all he said.

Romero then gave a brutal dose of reality to the man who was trying to fight Tank. “I mean, dude, you’re fat. Respect the f***ing talent,” he said. And if the guy was really serious about fighting, Romero had a simple solution: “If you want to be at that level, then come and do it right.”

Gervonta Davis decides to let it go without any problems

It all happened when an impertinent follower ran into Gervonta Davis while the 30-year-old champion was relaxing with his friends next to his car. But instead of asking for the autograph or photo that everyone wants, like any fan, this guy did the unimaginable: he directly challenged Tank to “do a fade,” which makes it clear that he is not aware of what he was asking.

“Wow, Gervonta Davis? How you doing, brother?” the guy enthusiastically greeted the boxer. Davis, always serene, fist-bumped him, completely oblivious to the nonsense that was about to occur. That’s when the guy changed the subject and started talking nonsense.

“Hey, I just wanted to do a friendly getaway. I know you do all that boxing stuff. You know what I mean? For money! I have money. There’s nothing like, you know, a getaway or something that’s not orchestrated live. Just some neighborhood bullshit. I gave the belt a punch to a…”, the man bravely declared.

As soon as Gervonta Davis realized where the conversation was going, his attitude changed completely: cold, nonchalant and completely exhausted. The guy, sensing the change in energy, turned to Davis’ friends to bump fists, but they all shut him down at once

Defeated, he walked away, muttering some more incoherences. Although the 30-year-old handled the situation with composure, the internet was not so calm. Fans criticized him harshly online for the flagrant disrespect.
