The worst possible prognosis was confirmed. Rodrygo Goes has an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee and says goodbye to the season… and to the World Cup. The Brazilian star was subjected to medical tests in the morning to determine the exact extent of a knee injury he suffered against Getafe. This serious injury is therefore a blow too hard for both the player and his teams, Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.

A few minutes after stepping onto the pitch, the Brazilian fell on the flank with the misfortune that his knee got caught. The obvious gestures of pain could be seen immediately, but the number 11 managed to continue and finish the game. However, the bad feelings were evident and the medical services examined him in the dressing room, but they agreed with the player to continue with the tests this morning. That is where they detected the seriousness of the injury

Only two forwards

Rodrygo reappeared against Getafe after almost a month out of action with tendinitis. He came on in the 54th minute and could not break down Getafe’s wall. At the end of the match, as can be seen in the image, he ended up clutching his right knee, which is where he started to feel the discomfort.

With the serious knee injury confirmed, Real Madrid are left with Vinicius and Gonzalo as the only strikers in the squad for the trip to Vigo, as Mbappe is also injured and Mastantuono is suspended after the red card he received in the final minutes.
