The Rocket Classic 2025 tees off from Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, June 29 at the iconic Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan. Established in 2019, this modern PGA Tour staple is played on the club’s North Course-a par 72 layout stretching 7,370 yards through lush parkland. With a reputation as a birdie-filled, attackable course, the Rocket Classic draws a mix of elite talent looking to tune up mid-season before major championships roll around.

How to Watch the Rocket Classic

Television coverage kicks off on Thursday, June 26, with Golf Channel broadcasting early-round action from 3:00 to 6:00 PM ET, simulcast on the NBC Sports App. Coverage continues similarly on Friday.

Over the weekend, Saturday and Sunday broadcasts run from 1:00 to 3:00 PM ET on Golf Channel, then switch to CBS from 3:00 to 6:00 PM ET.

Streaming fans can catch exclusive early coverage and featured groups via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+, starting around 6:45 AM ET Thursday and Friday, and 7:00 AM ET over the weekend. CBS coverage is also available live on Paramount+, while NBC Sports.com and the NBC Sports App simulcast Golf Channel’s feed.

Tee Times & Event Schedule

Tournament activities begin Wednesday with community and pro-am events, then Monday’s Pro-Am and Tuesday’s Detroit Community Day lead into the main competition. Round 1 of the Rocket Classic begins Thursday, June 26, with gates opening as early as 6:45 AM ET and play starting on both the 1st and 10th tees, often dubbed “Bow Tie Day.” Round 2 on Friday features early gates and a “Folds of Honor” tribute. Saturday is Collegiate Day, and gates open at 7:15 AM ET before the third round. The tournament closes Sunday, with gates again opening at 7:15 AM ET and the trophy presentation taking place on the 18th green following the final putt.

Who’s in the Field?

The Rocket Classic features a 156-player field, filled with a blend of major champions and top-ranked stars. Defending champion Cam Davis-who secured a two-time win (2021 & 2024)-heads into the week aiming to repeat. Among the top contenders are Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Gordon Sargent, and Gary Woodland.

The Rocket Classic is best known for its low scoring and birdie-heavy play. Historically, winning scores hover between -18 and -26, rewarding big hitters and sharp putters. The North Course’s blend of thickness, bunkering, and unpredictable greens creates standout opportunities for players who attack pins and stay steady on irregular surfaces.

With its prime late-June date, Detroit Golf Club in peak summer condition, a melodic mix of top-tier talent, and accessible viewing options, the Rocket Classic 2025 is shaping up as one of the most entertaining events-and best lead-ins to the mid-season majors. Whether you’re watching from home or planning to attend, this week’s tournament delivers fireworks.
