Robinho leaves the ‘famous’ prison with known murderers and Tinder: ex-Real Madrid player changes prison

Robinho, a Real Madrid player from 2005 to 2008, has been transferred from Tremembe, the so-called prison of the famous, to Limeira prison in the interior of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 41-year-old former footballer was sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted in 2022 in Italy of gang rape committed in the transalpine country in 2013.

The Penitentiary Administration Secretariat confirmed that the transfer to the Limeira Reintegration Center was carried out at the request of Robinho’s defense.

Why has Robinho been moved to a different prison?

‘O Globo’ reports that at the end of October Robinho’s lawyers requested the transfer of the former Real Madrid player to another prison in the state of Sao Paulo, a request that was denied.

At that time, the court indicated that the request should be made directly to the Prison Administration Secretariat.

In the request, the defense argued that Robinho maintains an exemplary conduct, with no disciplinary record, and that he is a primary offender with only one criminal conviction. They pointed out three possible destinations: Bragança Paulista, Rio Claro and Limeira, where he was finally transferred.

Robinho asked for a reduced sentence for completing a course in Basic Electronics, Radio and Television

Robinho’s defence also tried to reduce the former footballer’s sentence, arguing that he had completed a professional training course in Basic Electronics, Radio and Television.

The request was for a 50-day reduction, but the court denied it.

Robinho retired from football in 2020, but despite hanging up his boots, the ball is still part of his life and he used to play on the dirt field at the Penitentiary of Tremembe.

Robinho in Penitentiary II of Tremembe, the prison of the famous in Brazil

Robinho has been held in the Dr. Jose Augusto Cesar Salgado P2 (Penitentiary II of Tremembe) prison in Sao Paulo since March 2024.

The prison known as the “prison of the famous” in Brazil has 430 inmates housed in cells ranging in size from 9 to 15 square meters and accommodating up to six people.

Famous murderers with whom Robinho lives in Penitentiary II of Tremembe

In Penitentiary II of Tremembe, where there are politicians (Luiz Estevao), celebrities (Antonio Marcos Pimenta das Neves) and famous murderers such as Alexandre Nardoni, Cristian Cravinhos (the murderer of the Von Richthofen), Roger Abdelmassih (doctor who abused 39 sedated patients) or Lindemberg Alves, who were convicted of crimes such as rape, kidnapping or murder.

This is how the Tinder of the “famous prison” where Robinho is imprisoned works: it brought together two murderers

Journalist Ullisses Campbell revealed in a book on the Von Richthofen murders that the inmates of Robinho’s prison designed a kind of Tinder with inmates from another module located five kilometers away.

The system consists of the prisoners sending full-body photographs to the prisoners thanks to visits and personal letters that were read aloud by the security staff.

That prison ‘Tinder’ forged the romantic relationship between two famous murderers. Vinicius Nunes (who killed his own brother) and Jaqueline Moraes (who killed her husband by stabbing him 56 times) began a relationship, which broke up after the prisoner broke up with his beloved… when he discovered that she was “fatter and more wrinkled” than in the photos they shared. Shortly afterwards he became engaged to another inmate.
