Robert Griffin III makes bold claim about 2025 QB Draft Class

With less than three weeks to go until the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off in Green Bay, quarterback talk is heating up.

But unlike last year’s class, which saw six QBs taken in the first 12 picks, including each of the top three, this year’s crop has generated more skepticism than excitement.

RGIII thinks 2025 QBs are NFL-ready

While Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are regarded as top prospects, many scouts and fans believe the 2025 class lacks the elite talent seen in recent drafts.

Despite the doubts, former NFL quarterback and Heisman winner Robert Griffin III is pushing back against the narrative.

In a recent video shared on X, Griffin passionately defended this year’s QB group, labeling it the “most battle-tested” class in draft history.

“I think this quarterback class of 2025 is the most battle-tested ever,” Griffin said.

“Let me explain to you what I mean. Shedeur Sanders turned around two college programs, Jackson State and Colorado, with six different offensive coordinators. Cam Ward turned around two programs and excelled at three after being a no-star recruit coming out of high school.”

Griffin continued by spotlighting Jaxson Dart, who transferred from USC and led Ole Miss to back-to-back 10-win seasons and their first 11-win campaign in school history, all while breaking some of Eli Manning’s records.

He also praised Alabama’s Jalen Milroe for rebounding after a midseason benching and Will Howard, who transferred from Kansas State and led Ohio State to a National Championship before declaring for the draft.

The former No. 2 overall pick also highlighted quarterbacks like Riley Leonard, Kyle McCord, and Dillon Gabriel, each of whom played for multiple programs and showed adaptability throughout their careers.

While this year’s quarterback class may not have the star power of its 2024 counterpart, Griffin believes NFL teams could uncover long-term value in these resilient and experienced passers.

As teams finalize their draft boards, some, like the Titans and Saints, appear poised to take a chance on these gritty QBs, with Ward and Sanders projected to go within the top 10.

The 2025 NFL Draft begins on April 24 and will be televised on ESPN and the ESPN app.
