The artist Rong Niu, better known as “Red Panda” suffered a spectacular fall at the start of her performance in the final of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup between Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx, held in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The acrobat has performed for many years at NBA, WNBA and college basketball games in the United States, and is well loved and recognized by the public.

During her now famous performance, in which she rides a unicycle 2.4 meters above the ground and balances bowls on her head, she suffered a heavy fall and although she did not seem to lose consciousness at any time, she was not able to leave the field on her own and had to leave the court in a wheelchair, accompanied by medical staff and visibly affected.

Nothing has yet been released about her condition, but it seems that she has at least suffered an injury to her left wrist. In addition, after the game a WNBA source stated that she was taken to the hospital for treatment.

In sports, Indiana Fever beat the Lynx 74-59 to win the Cup. Fever coach Stephanie White commented after the game that during the game her players were not aware of the fall and that they found out once they were celebrating the victory in the locker room.

For her part, Caitlin Clark joined her teammate Sydney Colson’s Instagram live to encourage the artist in this difficult time.
