Reckless tweet blows up Steelers’ last shot at signing Aaron Rodgers: “He so *ss”

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have just watched their last, best chance to land Aaron Rodgers go up in digital smoke-and all it took was four words.

As the team reshaped its roster with the shocking trade of George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, speculation soared that Pittsburgh was making a stealth push for Rodgers.

The theory wasn’t so far-fetched: ditch the drama, bring in Rodgers’ longtime receiver Allen Lazard, and roll out a red carpet for the veteran QB. But just as momentum began to build, Steelers safety DeShon Elliott threw a grenade into the plan with a savage tweet.

Just four words ruined the deal

Reacting to a report suggesting the Steelers were eyeing Lazard as part of a Rodgers-oriented pivot, Elliott didn’t hold back. “He so *ss, lol,” he posted. Four words. One massive ripple effect. Not only did Elliott’s tweet go viral-it may have torched any goodwill between Lazard and the Steelers before a trade was even on the table.

If the 29-year-old wideout, currently in the final year of his Jets contract, was considering Pittsburgh as his next stop, he’s now got a chilly reception waiting in the locker room.

The irony? Lazard, once undrafted, carved out a solid career with Rodgers in Green Bay before following him to New York. Reuniting in Pittsburgh seemed plausible-until now.

Rodgers remains missing in action

Meanwhile, Rodgers himself has remained typically aloof. According to ESPN’s Peter Schrager, he’s planning to skip the OTAs again this year-just like last season when he chose a vacation in Egypt over minicamp.

That decision was widely criticized after he struggled to build chemistry with Jets receivers. If the Steelers had any real shot at luring Rodgers, it likely depended on assembling familiar weapons like Lazard to entice him. Now, thanks to one impulsive tweet, that dream looks all but dead.

With Pickens gone, Lazard insulted, and Rodgers radio silent, the Steelers’ bold offseason swing may have struck out before it even left the dugout.
