Good evening everyone and welcome to another MARCA in English live blog, this time covering the eagerly anticipated FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The spotlight shines on these two European giants as they battle for a place in the semi-finals of the newly expanded tournament.

Real Madrid, under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, are eager to restore their winning reputation after a challenging 2024-25 season in LaLiga and Europe.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, led by Niko Kovac, are determined to make a statement and upset the 15-time European champions on their way to glory.

Madrid may rotate their squad considering their congested schedule, but they will still field a strong lineup hungry to add another trophy to their illustrious cabinet.

Dortmund, known for their high-energy and dynamic style, will look to exploit any gaps and showcase their youthful talent.

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund team news

Kylian Mbappe should be back following a bout of illness that kept him out of the last-16 win, while Jude Bellingham is likely to start against his former team.

However, Xabi Alonso cannot rely on Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga and Endrick as the trio are injured and ruled out of the clash.

Unfortunately for Jude, his brother Jobe will not on the pitch to face him. This is because the new signing picked up a yellow card in the win over Monterrey, his second of the tournament, leading to a one-match ban.

Elsewhere, Emre Can and Nico Schlotterbeck are injured for Dortmund.
