Hallie Aiono, the ex-girlfriend of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, shared a candid look into the challenges of new motherhood as she opened up about a recent health scare.
On Sunday, Aiono posted a short video of her infant son, Kingston, sitting with her sister, Taylor Temaari Aiono, as the two exchanged playful babbles. Alongside the clip, Aiono revealed she has been bedridden with mastitis, describing the past few days as physically and emotionally difficult.
“My sister has been mine and Kings angel these past few days, as I have been so sick in bed with mastitis,”Aiono wrote. “Having a child is not a one-person job and I’ve had to learn that the hard way.”

She went on to credit both of her sisters for stepping in during her illness, calling their support “healing” and expressing gratitude for their constant presence while she recovered. According to the Mayo Clinic, mastitis is a painful inflammation of the breast that most commonly affects breastfeeding women.
Aiono’s vulnerable update came just days after she hinted that she may be seeing someone new. Earlier in the week, she shared a lighthearted Instagram story of herself holding Kingston in front of a Christmas tree, joking about a conversation with her “BF” and her quirky sense of humor.
The personal posts arrive amid ongoing attention surrounding her past relationship with Nacua. Earlier this month, the Rams receiver drew backlash for blunt remarks about marriage during a livestream, saying, “Don’t get married. They all cheat,” and later adding that he likely would not marry in the future.
Aiono is on a path of healing
Aiono and Nacua welcomed their son on Oct. 30, with Aiono announcing Kingston’s birth the following day. In her post, she described motherhood as transformative, writing that her son had already taught her “more about love, strength, and grace” than she thought possible.
Nacua was present at Kingston’s birth and confirmed he is the child’s father after months of speculation and a paternity case filed earlier this year.
While their relationship continues to draw public interest, Aiono’s latest message focused squarely on healing, family support, and navigating the realities of life as a new mother.
