The case involving Gianluca Prestianni and Vinícius Júnior continues to generate media coverage and public debate. Amid reports of a possible UEFA investigation and potential sanctions, it has been the Benfica player’s entourage who have decided to come forward. Gastón Fernández, the player’s agent, gave an exclusive interview to the media outlet ‘Win-Win’ to set out his client’s position.
Fernández, a former soccer player with River Plate and currently the young Argentine’s agent, was emphatic when referring to what has been published in recent days. “Everything that has been published about what Gianluca Prestianni actually said in the UEFA investigations is false,” he said. With that statement, the agent denied the reports that pointed to certain statements made by the player in the context of the proceedings opened after the incident.
The player’s agent also denied that there had been any official communication regarding possible sanctions. “No one has contacted us officially to inform us of any possible sanctions related to this matter,” he said, making it clear that, to date, they have not received any formal notification from the relevant authorities.

Following Benfica‘s previous statement, Fernández explained that the intention is not to prolong the controversy. “We no longer wish to continue with this issue. We have already made it clear that what happened was not as they tried to present or portray it in relation to Gianluca. From now on, the only thing that matters to us is to provide the player with peace of mind and calm,” he stressed. Finally, the agent concluded: “When everything is over, we will think carefully about the best decision to make.”
The conflict remains unresolved, and until there is a definitive outcome, the player’s entourage insists on reducing the media noise and focusing on the sporting aspect, with Wednesday‘s return leg against Real Madrid in their sights.
