Owen was asked whether he prefers Messi or Cristiano and while he recognised the talent of both, he does have a favourite who he believes was “born to be great”:
Both, it’s impossible not to think about it. I think naturally Messi is the best player I’ve seen, while I love the way Ronaldo has worked so hard to be in that conversation
“One was a gift from God and the other had to work for it. Messi was born to be great,” Owen told ESPN.
