Pitbull Cruz and Lamont Roach explode over the result of their fight

This weekend Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and Lamont Roach Jr starred in a fight that confirmed why it was one of the most anticipated of this year’s finale, however, what did not satisfy anyone was the result as two of the judges saw a draw on their scorecards and this of course did not please the fighters who gave their version of the fight and were obviously upset because each one considered that they should have come out with their fists up.

And while ‘Pitbull’ Cruz blamed the referee for the result, the American fighter went against the judges, all while speculation begins about a second fight next year.

‘Pitbull’ Cruz: “I won, the one who took the fight away from me was the referee”

Visibly upset after the judges’ decision, Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz said that he should have won the fight and blamed the referee: “I did my job. The judges saw what the referee favored (Lamont Roach Jr). I just came to have a great fight and to give myself to the people of San Antonio. I won, the one who took the fight away from me was the referee,” he said.

Another point that Isaac Cruz highlighted about the referee’s work was that on several occasions he did not call Roach Jr.’s attention for some blows that in his opinion were low blows and also spoke of a possible rematch: “I came to show my work and everyone saw that the referee tried to help him. Of course I would give him the rematch but with another referee,” he concluded

Lamont Roach also blamed the judges: “I don’t accept this result at all”

“All I want is to be treated fairly, that’s all I want. I think I won the fight, I got a close victory. I thought I had won, a close fight, yes, but I won,” said the American fighter.
