If anyone knows how to shine in Major League Baseball, it’s legend Barry Bonds. He had an extraordinary career and is best known as the Home Run King, holding the all-time MLB record for most home runs. Bonds made history in the world of baseball, and now, one of the most iconic pieces from his legacy is up for sale at a significant price.

Bonds achieved many awards in his career like being named 14 times in the All Star game, several MVP awards, 8 time Gold Glove Award and setting records in the league, like 2.558 career bases on balls, .609 on-base percentage in a single season, 73 home runs in a season, and one of the most important one, the 762 career home runs in his career.

Barry Bonds left an unforgettable mark at home plate, where he dazzled fans with his powerful bat and record-breaking home runs. Now, one of the most iconic pieces of baseball history is up for sale, the very home plate where Bonds made history in 2007 by hitting his record-setting 756th career home run.

The historic game that cemented Bonds’ legacy

Time flies, and it has been nearly 28 years since Barry Bound touched the sky with the hands. It was in August 7 of 2007, when the San Francisco Giants played against the Washington Nationals at home.

The stage couldn’t have been more fitting, Barry Bonds was playing in front of a home crowd fully behind him, all anticipating a historic moment. Stepping up to the plate, Bonds faced pitcher Mike Bacsik in a tense, head-to-head showdown.

Then came the pitch, Bonds connected, launching the ball out of the park. In that instant, history was made. With that swing, Bonds etched his name among the greatest to ever play the game. The crowd erupted, knowing they had just witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

A priceless piece of Bonds’ legacy hits the market

Originally from Barry Bonds’ personal collection, the historic home plate he stepped on after hitting his 756th career home run, as a member of the San Francisco Giants, is now up for auction, via SCP auction, with an estimated sale price of $100,000.

The home plate will be auctioned alongside the game ball from the historic match in which Bonds made history. Both items will include their respective letters of authenticity, signed by the Giants slugger himself.

“This is the actual home plate from the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals MLB game on August 7th, 2007, at AT&T Park, where I hit my 756th career home run in the contest, passing Hank Aaron or sole possession of first place on the all-time MLB home run leaderboard,” said bond’s letter.
