Philadelphia fans hit the boiling point and boo the Eagles in game vs Bears

The day in Philadelphia began with energy and celebration. Jason Kelce was back at Lincoln Financial Field, hosting a special Black Friday edition of his New Heights tailgate, complete with food, giveaways, a DJ, games, and even a belly-bucking contest that had fans laughing and filming every moment. By kickoff, the parking lot felt like one big reunion of a fanbase ready for redemption after last week’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

But once fans filed into the stadium, the shift in mood was immediate. Despite the Eagles entering the game with an 8-3 record, the anxiety inside the Linc was unmistakable. The offense had been sluggish in recent weeks, and it didn’t take long for frustration to boil over.

Chicago delivered the first punch when former Eagles running back D’Andre Swift powered into the end zone for a 7-0 lead. Instead of a groan, the crowd responded with full-volume boos that grew louder with every stalled drive. Jalen Hurts and the offense managed only a Jake Elliott field goal early in the second quarter, but any momentum fizzled quickly. When Cairo Santos drilled a field goal to stretch Chicago’s lead to 10-3, the negativity in the building reached a new level.

Online, fans were just as sharp. One X user wrote that the Eagles “should get relentlessly booed for this effort.” Another pointed out how unusual the situation was: “The Eagles are 8-3 and getting booed with seven minutes left in the first quarter.” Even neutral observers noted how often the offense walked off the field to jeers.

Eagles fans vs Eagles team? A brief spark, then more frustration

Things brightened slightly in the third quarter when Hurts connected with AJ Brown for a much-needed touchdown. The Linc finally let out a roar of relief. But the excitement lasted only seconds. Elliott pushed the extra point wide, leaving Philly trailing 10-9 and triggering another wave of groans.

It was the kind of moment that captured the current state of the team. Even when the Eagles find a spark, something small derails it. Recent performances have lacked rhythm, and fans who expected a bounce-back showing instead got more of the same.

Meanwhile, the earlier joy from the Jason Kelce tailgate felt like a different universe. Hours before the boos poured down, the retired center had been shirtless, helmeted, and knocking an opponent out of a ring during the belly-bucking competition. The lighthearted scene stood in sharp contrast to the tension later inside the stadium.

As the game wore on, it was clear that Philadelphia fans weren’t expressing apathy. They were expressing expectations. And on Friday, the Eagles didn’t meet them.
