ThePhiladelphia Eagles are off to a powerful start this NFL season, maintaining their momentum under head coach Nick Sirianni’s leadership. With their latest victory over the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles improved to 3-0, highlighted by a standout performance from defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who dominated on the field.

Defending an NFL title is never easy, and the matchup against the Rams proved to be a tough challenge for the Philadelphia Eagles. Pushed to the limit until the final moments, the Eagles ultimately secured an important victory over a determined Los Angeles team that came to Philadelphia seeking its third straight win.

Jordan Davis played a crucial role throughout the game, staying active on every snap and contributing selflessly to the team’s effort. His persistence paid off late in the contest, when he powered into the end zone for a decisive touchdown that sealed the Eagles’ hard-fought victory.

Jordan Davis reached a milestone not seen in the NFL since 2017

Everything unfolded in the final moments of the game, where Jordan Davis stayed locked in. After blocking Joshua Karty’s potential game-winning field goal, Davis scooped up the loose football, sprinted the length of the field, and crossed the goal line with one mission in mind: to score.

Weighing in at 330 pounds, Jordan Davis sprinted with full force, giving everything he had to finish the play. In his pursuit of the end zone, the defensive tackle reached an astonishing speed of nearly 20 miles per hour, an impressive stat that highlights both his athleticism and impact on the game.

That burst of speed quickly drew the attention of the Next Gen Stats account on X, which analyzed the play in detail. Their review concluded that Davis’s run was a rare feat, a surprising display of athleticism not seen in the NFL since 2017.

On X, the official Next Gen Stats account highlighted Davis’s historic play: “Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who blocked a potential game-winning field goal and returned it for a touchdown as time expired, reached a top speed of 18.59 mph on the return, the fastest by any player over 330 pounds since at least 2017.”

Thrilling finish: Eagles edge Rams in cardiac ending

The Los Angeles Rams proved to be a far tougher rival than the Eagles anticipated, pushing the defending champions to the limit. The game nearly slipped away in the final moments, as the Rams had a chance to seal victory with a field goal, until Jordan Davis’ remarkable play turned the tide and preserved Philadelphia’s celebration.

The Eagles have opened the season with a perfect start and are determined to maintain that momentum, fully aware of the competition from other talented teams across the league. As it stands, with several games still to be played, only five franchises remain unbeaten in the NFL: the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.
