Peyton Manning just landed a huge new role at ESPN: Here’s what it means

Peyton Manning’s post-NFL career has been anything but quiet. Since retiring in 2016, he’s stayed front and center-appearing in commercials, building a production company, and most notably, co-hosting the fan-favorite ManningCast with his brother Eli.

And now, ESPN is giving him even more room to shine.

On Tuesday night, during the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, ESPN made a big announcement: Manning is set to lead a new docuseries for ESPN+ called “NFL Mind Games.” It’ll explore the mental side of football-from game planning to leadership to those split-second decisions under pressure.

The Mind Behind the Game Gets the Spotlight

“NFL Mind Games” isn’t just a highlight reel-it’s a deep dive into how elite players think, prepare, and perform under fire.

The show will be produced by Omaha Productions, Manning’s own company, which has a long-term partnership with ESPN through 2034. Manning will serve as executive producer and appear on-screen throughout the series. Think ManningCast, but with a focus on strategy over sideline banter.

And yes, ManningCast is coming back too-bigger than ever. ESPN confirmed that the alternate Monday Night Football broadcast will return for a fourth season with an expanded schedule of 12 games, including two playoff matchups. Fans can expect the same laid-back, insider style, plus plenty of A-list guests.

It’s not just new content-Manning’s work is earning awards. On Tuesday, he also took home the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst, his second in three years. It’s a nod to how he’s helped evolve football coverage with depth, humor, and a QB’s-eye view.

“We’re just getting started,”Manning said in his acceptance speech. “There’s always more to explore in this game.”

And clearly, ESPN agrees. With fresh projects, continued live coverage, and a platform built for long-term growth, Peyton Manning’s media playbook just got a lot more interesting.
