Everything is set with the new NFL season just around the corner, and Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll is fully focused on the challenge ahead. A veteran leader with vast experience, Carroll left a lasting legacy with the Seattle Seahawks and now looks to build his own path with the Nevada franchise.

Carroll faces his first challenge this Sunday as the Las Vegas Raiders open their 2025 NFL regular season against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Under the leadership of the veteran coach, the Raiders aim to start strong and build momentum toward becoming true contenders in the highly competitive AFC West.

To achieve their goals, the Raiders will rely on the guidance of 73-year-old Pete Carroll, who is determined to make a strong impact with the franchise now co-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady. The team will benefit from Carroll’s experience and coaching style as he looks to shape a winning culture in Las Vegas.

The impact that Pete Carroll can have in the Las Vegas Raiders

Undoubtedly, the Las Vegas Raiders needed a fresh start before the new season after failing to reach the playoffs. That’s why Pete Carroll’s arrival is so significant, as the veteran coach looks to transform the team’s image and elevate their performance on the field.

With his new hires, Pete Carroll has sent a clear message about reshaping the Raiders’ culture, emphasizing the team’s determination to bounce back and restore the winning tradition that once defined the franchise. This happened during the Press conference of the Team Captains announcement.

“Well, the culture is a little different now and it’s changed. Those guys bring us the history, and they bring us the connection,” Carroll said during a press conference, addressing the shift in philosophy and culture within the team.

“This has been an incredible franchise for years, for decades, and I’ve always known that,” Carroll told reporters. “For us, it’s about bringing in a new way of looking at things while complementing what has already been built here in the past. Having those guys involved at this point is crucial.”

Key players set to lead the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2025 NFL season

For Pete Carroll, it is essential to rely on strong, experienced players who can lead the Raiders on the field. The veteran coach has emphasized the importance of key leaders who will be responsible for guiding the team through this cultural shift and driving a new winning mindset.

“Kolton Miller has had a great camp, and he’s had a great offseason. I’m thrilled about the way he’s performed and how he’s come out of it healthy and ready to go, and he’s battled every day; he hasn’t missed a thing.” Said Carroll about Kolton Miller and his health status. The Head Coach also talked about another cornerstone player, “Maxx Crosby has been hugely important.”

“And really a lot of gratitude to those guys for helping that happen, because they could have been clinging on to the old ways. And they have not been like that, they’ve been wide open from the start.” Concluded Pete Carroll on the commitment that some players have with the Raiders.
