New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso and his wife, Haley, are thrilled to share that they’re expecting their first child together.
The couple made the joyful announcement on April 5 with a heartfelt Instagram post, filled with sweet moments of their growing family.
In a series of photos, Pete and Haley can be seen posing outside, sharing intimate moments, including a tender kiss and Haley proudly holding up a sonogram image.
Additional shots featured the couple standing by the water, surrounded by palm trees, radiating excitement for their upcoming journey into parenthood.
“Baby Alonso 2025, we can’t wait for this next chapter of becoming mom and dad,” the caption to the post read.
A love story that began in Cape Cod
Pete and Haley‘s relationship blossomed back in 2015 when they met while Pete was playing summer baseball in the Cape Cod League.
At the time, Pete was studying at the University of Florida, while Haley was attending Michigan State University.
Despite being separated by distance, the two maintained a long-distance relationship, something Pete says they both valued deeply.
“I just couldn’t get enough of her,” Pete recalled in a 2020 ESPN interview. “For me, this was the one.”
The couple got engaged in November 2018 and married three years later in Tampa, Florida, in 2021. In a black-and-white post following their wedding.
“For all the days of my life,” Haley wrote, while Pete expressed how special the day was, calling it “hands down the best day of my life.”
On their first wedding anniversary in 2022, Haley shared a heartfelt photo from their ceremony, prompting Pete to reply.
“Most memorable and special day of my life,” along with a loving note expressing how lucky he was to be her husband.
With the arrival of their first baby on the horizon, Pete and Haley are eagerly looking forward to this exciting new chapter in their lives.
