Paul Goldschmidt turns off knee injury alarms and shines with Yankees against Cardinals

After missing the first two games of the series with a knee injury, Paul Goldschmidt returned to action in the third game and made it clear that there is no cause for concern. The Yankees first baseman said he felt fine physically and that his focus was on helping the team

“I wasn’t really worried about the knee,” said Goldschmidt, who had three hits, scored a run and drove in another in the 8-4 victory over the Cardinals.

Goldschmidt shines on his return

The return of Paul Goldschmidt was celebrated by the fans at Busch Stadium, who gave him a standing ovation during the second inning. Despite wearing the Yankees uniform, the respect for his legacy in St. Louis was felt. His performance was instrumental in the Yankees completing the sweep in the series.
