Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have seen their love blossom from high school sweethearts to husband and wife, with the couple set to welcome a third child in the near future.
They’ve come a long way since their time at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, where Patrick played basketball, baseball and football and Brittany played soccer.
While the two are seemingly never far apart from on another, there was a time when their love was still new.

During a video series titles ‘Elite Leader Series’, Brittany talked about the moment she fell for Patrick after a heart-warming gesture.
“So, then I think his sophomore year, my junior year, he brought this little Valentine’s gift for me at lunch one day,” she said.
“It was like a heart-shaped card that said, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day,’ like a rose or something, and he just like, brought it to me as a funny joke. But I thought it was the cutest thing in the world.”
Patrick had to build up his courage to ask Brittany out, as everyone around them wanted to see it happen.
“Everyone in the cafeteria started chanting like, ‘Kiss her, kiss her,’ to him, and I was like, ‘Okay, this is embarrassing,'” Brittany said.
“From then on, I think that’s where I just kind of started getting a crush on him, and then, boom, we just fell in love.”
Patrick and Brittany went from friends to lovers
During an episode of the Netflix series ‘Quarterback’, Mahomes stated that he actually started out being friends with Brittany.
“We kinda met in seventh, eighth grade,” Patrick said. “She was the grade above me. I was kind of the best friend, in the friend zone forever.”
Brittany confirmed that, adding her view on the matter.
“So, Patrick, he is my best friend in the whole world. We met in high school, his freshman year, my sophomore year. He just became one of my best friends, like all of his other friends were, but I never liked him. We were just best friends,” she said.
