Patrick Mahomes expands Adidas partnership with new deal

Patrick Mahomes’ rise has never been limited to Sundays. Long before he became the face of the Kansas City Chiefs and one of the NFL’s most recognizable stars, he was quietly building relationships that would grow alongside his career. One of the most important of those began in 2017, before his rookie season, when Adidassigned him to a standard footwear and apparel endorsement.

At the time, Mahomes was still a projection. A strong arm, an unconventional style, and plenty to prove. As his on-field success followed, the partnership evolved with him. His first signature shoe arrived in 2021, marking a turning point that placed him in rare company among NFL quarterbacks.

That relationship continued to mature with the release of the Mahomes 2 in February 2024, reflecting both his growing influence and Adidas’ confidence in him as a long-term figure. The brand positioned him not just as an athlete, but as a central pillar in its NFL strategy.

Now, that partnership is entering a new chapter.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, Patrick Mahomes has signed a multi-year contract extension with Adidas. The agreement includes the launch of Mahomes’ own golf line, signaling an expansion of his personal brand into a sport that aligns with his lifestyle off the field. Adidas also confirmed that Mahomes will continue serving as a global face of the company.

Mahomes X Adidas: A brand that keeps growing

The extension builds on recent collaborations between Mahomes and Adidas, including the brand’s 10-year partnership with Texas Tech announced in 2024. That deal featured a co-branded apparel line highlighted by Mahomes’ gladiator mask logo, further blurring the line between athlete endorsement and brand identity.

Mahomes’ value off the field continues to rise. Before this latest extension, he was earning an estimated $28 million annually from endorsements, according to Forbes. On the field, his long-term contract with the Kansas City Chiefs remains one of the most significant in league history. Mahomes is currently in the fourth year of his 10-year, $450 million deal, with career earnings through 2025 estimated at $232 million by Spotrac.

As Mahomes continues to balance championships and brand-building, his latest move with Adidas shows just how wide his reach has become and that, at the end of the day, everything will be fine even if your team didn’t make the playoffs this season.
