Patrick Mahomes keeps proving why he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. After leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions, he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 12th time in his career.
In that victory, Mahomes looked calm, confident, and completely in control. He completed 22 of 30 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns, finishing the day without a single interception. It was his 27th career game with at least three touchdowns and zero turnovers, the most by any player since he entered the league in 2018.
As the Chiefs prepare for a Week 7 matchup at Allegiant Stadium against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mahomes is once again at the center of Kansas City’s success. Through six games, he has completed 64.8% of his passes for 1,514 yards, 11 passing touchdowns, and only two interceptions. He also leads the team in rushing, recording 222 yards and four rushing touchdowns on 38 carries.

Beyond the game, Mahomes continues to show leadership in his community. His 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, founded in 2019, recently announced a huge milestone. Partnering with the Youth Volunteer Corps, the program inspired 2,110 kids across five countries to complete over 92,000 hours of community service this year.
Each participant committed to 15 hours of volunteer work, far surpassing the original goal of 50,000 total hours. One Kansas City student, Janeesa, shared that Mahomes “inspired me to volunteer because he gives back to his community, and I want to do the same.”
Mahomes also continues to raise awareness for food allergy research through the NFL’s My Cleats, My Cause initiative. His custom “15 and FARE” cleats, created in honor of his children Sterling and Bronze, were auctioned for $22,050, with proceeds donated to Kansas City hospitals.
