Patrick Mahomes called a Kansas City Chiefs legend to avoid being crushed again by the Philadelphia Eagles

During the NFL preseason, one of the most scrutinized teams has been the Kansas City Chiefs, after they were crushed 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles in the last Super Bowl in a game where they couldn’t respond. Additionally, many consider the Chiefs’ 15-2 record in 2024 to be questionable, especially given the way they won their games.

Analyst Colin Cowherd said that the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynasty was in serious danger and predicted the Denver Broncos as the winner of the AFC West. So far, that prediction hasn’t started badly: all the AFC West teams – Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers – won their games, and the only team that didn’t was the Chiefs.

In the season opener in Brazil, the Chiefs lost 27-21 to the Los Angeles Chargers, led by a spectacular Justin Herbert, who threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, while the Chiefs struggled offensively again and also lost wide receiver Xavier Worthy to injury.

Yes, the Chiefs could start 0-2, even with the presence of a team legend.

As if that weren’t enough, the Kansas City Chiefs will play at home this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles once again – the team that dominated them in the last Super Bowl. Oddsmakers have the Chiefs as slight favorites, likely due to home-field advantage. Starting 0-2 could be deadly.

This Tuesday, the Chiefs announced that Tyrann “Honey Badger” Mathieu will be honored before the game against the Eagles. “See you soon, Tyrann Mathieu,” posted the official Kansas City Chiefs social media account.

The defensive star played three seasons with the Chiefs alongside some of the NFL’s biggest stars, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. Interestingly, Mathieu didn’t win any of the three Super Bowls the Chiefs have won in the Mahomes era.

The situation is complicated for the Kansas City Chiefs: two of their next three games are particularly tough, against the Eagles and Ravens, with the other against the Giants. So, in the first month of the season, things could get very challenging for Patrick Mahomes and company.
