Former WWE World ChampionGunther made an appearance on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. “The Ring General” was very angry as he had just lost his championship to Jey Uso at Wrestlemania 41. Unfortunately for him, the crowd wouldn’t let him speak as they chanted “You tap out”.

The furious Austrian wrestler confronted the commentators and demanded an explanation. Michael Cole became defensive and Gunther went after him and tried to choke him. But Pat McAfee came to his defense and hit him. Unfortunately for him, the former world champion grabbed him and choked him.

Referees and members of McAfee‘s show intervened to stop the fight, and he missed the last hour of the show because he was in no condition to continue.

RAW General Manager Adam Pearcesuspended the wrestler indefinitely for his actions towards the show’s commentator.

Pat McAfee challenges Gunther to a match

On tonight’s Monday Night RAW, NFL analyst and Red Brand commentator Pat took to the commentary table to discuss what happened.

McAfee said that nothing in his life has come easily to him, that every accomplishment has been the result of his own hard work. Today, with many friends and alliances with charities, he tries to give back by doing his best.

Recalling Michael Cole’s loyalty throughout his career, Pat revealed that several people had advised him not to challenge Gunther as he was experiencing one of the best moments of his career.

“When I’m dead and gone, they’ll say I was a loyal motherf*****,” Pat said.

McAfee gets what he wants

The commentator demanded that Nick Aldis, who replaced Adam Pearce, lift Gunther‘s suspension so he could fight him.

The SmackDown General Manager denied his request to lift the suspension, but eventually accepted the challenge and made Gunther vs. Pat McAfee official for Backlash on Saturday, May 10th from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Pat McAfee‘s last WWE match was two years ago at Wrestlemania 39, where he faced The Miz and ultimately won. A bigger challenge awaits him in the form of an in-ring beast like Gunther.
