Pat Mahomes Sr. fumbles drug test after Super Bowl amid Dave Portnoy fight speculation

Pat Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, failed to appear for a court-ordered drug test.

The appointment was scheduled for two days after Super Bowl LIX, according to a report from In Touch.

More legal trouble for Mahomes Sr.?

Court documents reveal that Mahomes Sr., 54, was required to submit a urine test on February 11, following his approved travel to New Orleans from February 7-10. The Super Bowl, where his son led the Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles, took place on February 9.

However, he did not comply with the testing order on the scheduled date, instead appearing on February 12.

His test came back negative, but the delay was noted in a status report filed by his community supervision officer.

The report also referenced an incident involving Mahomes Sr. during his trip to New Orleans.

Video footage allegedly captured him in a heated altercation on Bourbon Street.

This follows a previous viral moment in which he was seen arguing with former MLB pitcher John Rocker during Super Bowl weekend.

The legitimacy of the incident was questioned by fans, with some speculating that it was staged.

Adding to the intrigue, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy confirmed that Mahomes Sr. has signed a contract to fight Rocker in an upcoming Rough N’ Rowdy boxing match.

While Portnoy did not provide an exact date, he stated, “I believe we have a signed agreement for Mahomes Sr. to fight John Rocker at Rough N’ Rowdy.”

Mahomes Sr. has faced multiple legal issues in recent years, including a third DWI arrest in February 2024.

He later pleaded not guilty to a felony charge and was sentenced to five years of probation, 160 hours of community service, and mandatory alcohol education courses.

Additionally, he was required to install an interlock device in his vehicle to monitor his alcohol consumption.

In a recent motion, the District Attorney and community supervision officer requested stricter monitoring, including a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet, due to Mahomes Sr.’s frequent travel.

A judge has yet to rule on the request.

With legal scrutiny mounting and a highly publicized fight on the horizon, Mahomes Sr.’s recent actions continue to spark headlines, leaving NFL fans watching closely.
