Paige Spiranac’s hot take on golf snacks might be the most relatable yet

Paige Spiranac has a fresh take on golf culture – and this time, it’s about food.

On Thursday, the former pro golfer turned social media powerhouse made a passionate case for a snack she says every course should carry: the humble peanut butter and jelly sandwich. “It should be mandatory for every golf course to have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter), prompting a wave of responses from fans and fellow players alike.

For Spiranac, the PB&J isn’t just comfort food – it’s practical. It travels well, delivers instant energy, and probably reminds most golfers of school lunches and weekend tee times with their dads. It’s a simple suggestion, but it hit home with thousands of fans who agree that overpriced burgers and dry granola bars just don’t cut it mid-round.

She didn’t elaborate further, but her followers did plenty of talking. Some even shared memories of growing up on the course with nothing but PB&Js in the cooler. In an era when golf is trying to feel less exclusive and more inviting, Spiranac’s pick feels pretty on-brand.

Spiranac’s Off-Course Swing Still Packs Influence

Spiranac may not be competing on tour anymore – she retired from pro golf in 2016 after a stint on the Cactus Tour – but she’s arguably more influential now than ever. With over 4 million Instagram followers and major brand deals, she’s carved out her own lane in the sport.

Just last month, she appeared at the Truist Championship Creator Classic with YouTubers Tyler Tony and Matt Scharff. Their group didn’t contend, finishing 8-over, but Spiranac’s involvement brought a wave of attention to the event, as usual.

The PB&J post came just a day after she weighed in on a different debate: who really is the most hated personality in golf? When Barstool Sports’ Frankie Borrelli claimed it was Riggs, Spiranac raised an eyebrow: “In all of golf?” she replied. Some fans assumed she was referring to herself, but she clarified, suggesting analyst Brandel Chamblee might be a better contender for that title.

Spiranac has often spoken candidly about the criticism she’s faced – not just for her outspoken nature but for her appearance. In interviews with Golf Digest and Maxim (which named her 2022’s Sexiest Woman Alive), she’s talked about the toll that internet trolling can take, and why she chooses to keep speaking out.

She’s used to navigating the line between serious golf talk and lifestyle content. And sometimes, that means championing PB&Js over power shakes.

Because, let’s be honest – there’s something kind of perfect about walking up to the 10th tee with a sandwich that never lets you down.
