Paige Spiranac had a mixed week with her NFL and college basketball picks, finishing with a 2-3 record.
Despite her efforts, only three of her five predictions turned out as expected, bringing her overall season record to 9-6.
For her NFL picks, Spiranac correctly predicted that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would cover the spread against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bucs secured a dominant 40-17 victory, easily surpassing expectations.
She also correctly predicted that the combined points total in the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game would stay under 43 points. The Eagles won 27-13, with the combined total coming in at 40 points.
However, Spiranac’s other NFL picks didn’t fare as well. The Carolina Panthers, who she picked at -2.5, suffered a heavy 30-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, failing to cover the spread. Her choice of the Cleveland Browns to cover +4 also missed the mark, as the Browns fell to the Kansas City Chiefs, 21-7.
Her college basketball pick didn’t fare much better. She had predicted that the Idaho Vandals would cover +8 in their game against the Montana State Bobcats. Unfortunately, Idaho was blown out, losing 52-19 in a game that was never close.
Apologized on social media
Following the disappointing results, Spiranac took to social media to reflect on her performance. She expressed particular regret for her decision to back the Browns.
“I will personally apologize for the Browns pick. I’ve learned my lesson lol,” she said.
While the week didn’t go as planned, Spiranac remains positive about her overall 9-6 record this season.
