Golf influencer Paige Spiranac recently shared her grief over the loss of her cherished dog, Nico, who passed away from cancer on March 5 as she poured in an emotional tribute to her canine friend.

The American, known for her golf content and influencer life, first announced the devastating news earlier in the month. Then on March 20, in a YouTube video released on March 20, she revisited the difficult subject, thanking fans for their overwhelming support during this challenging time.

Spiranac described the depth of her bond with Nico, referring to him as her “soul dog” and a constant source of companionship over the past eight years as the 32-year-old finds herself deep into mourning.

“I’ve never dealt with loss before,” Spiranac told fans in the video. “And for it to be my best buddy Nico has been really challenging.”

Her voice breaking with emotion as she no doubt remembered the habits of her furry friend, but despite the pain, she acknowledged the comfort she found in the messages from her audience as they supported her.

Nico’s impact on her modelling career

Nico was more than just a pet; he had been an integral part of Spiranac‘s life and career since 2017 and became her emotional support friend and companion, sticking with her through transitions from her professional golf career to her rise as a social media personality.

She also honored his memory in several meaningful ways, including carrying an iron engraved with his name during the Creator Classic tournament. She also used a custom headcover featuring Nico‘s face, a heartfelt birthday gift from her parents.

So rather than focusing solely on the sadness of his passing, she chose to celebrate the joy Nico brought into her life.

“This is a celebration of his life and how great he was,” Spiranac continued. “He was the best rescue pup that I could have ever asked for.”
