After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings, Paige Bueckers had her first season in the league, and it was nothing short of outstanding.
She broke a number of records, averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 36 games with the Wings, and she ended her year as Kia’s 2025 Rookie of the Year. After failing to qualify for the playoffs, the 24-year-old point guard revealed what she will be doing for Christmas and with her professional career.
Bueckers enjoys her free time
In addition to basketball, the Dallas star enjoys the comforts of home and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Ahead of Christmas, the Minnesota native spoke with the New York Post and revealed that she is “excited” to share the holiday with her family. She also confessed that she has some favorite activities and dishes that have even become traditions: “We put up the Christmas tree together and play a ton of board games and card games. Some of my family’s favorites are Skyjo, Uno, Sorry! and Yahtzee. We also watch seasonal movies. ‘Elf’ is probably my favorite“.
In addition, the former UConn player confessed that her favorite dishes are creamed corn, mashed potatoes, Snickers salad, and honey ham: “I don’t prepare any of the dishes, but I’m still confident I can get it done!” she said.
On the other hand, in addition to surprising everyone with her talent on the court, she also stole the spotlight with her pre-game outfits. As a result, Paige was also asked about her style and the changes she has made to her look: “I’m loving the pink ombre look we created with Madison Reed ColorWonder demi-permanent hair color in ‘Pink Orchid,’” Bueckers said. “You can still see hints of blond, which makes it fun and bold, but still really me.”
However, she also revealed that she remains true to her style in terms of makeup and perfumes and that she has not changed much over time: “I go for a very natural look, just a little extra glow. Some powder, foundation, mascara, and some good perfume, like Santal & Vetiver’s Salt & Stone or Attrape-Rêves from Louis Vuitton“.
Meanwhile, Paige is preparing to make her debut in January in Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league co-founded in 2023 by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Bueckers will belong to the Breeze team, alongside stars such as Aari McDonald of Indiana Fever, Dominique Malonga of Seattle Storm, Kate Martin of Golden State Valkyries, and Cameron Brinck and Rickea Jackson of LA Sparks.
The 24-year-old star did not hide her enthusiasm, stating, “I love playing any kind of basketball. The WNBA off-season is pretty long, so this is an exciting opportunity. We have a very intriguing young squad that I can’t wait to play with.”
