Paige Bueckers is about to embark on her first WNBA season with the Dallas Wings after becoming champion in the NCAA.
Whilst most of her focus is of course on impressing in her new coaches, teammates and fans, Bueckers is also wondering what she should do with her hair.
She shared a sponsored Instagram post on Friday which was in partnership with hair color brand Madison Reed. It featured a throwback image of Bueckers posing in her UConn jersey with signature double braids and dirty blonde hair.
Bueckers wants advice
She has asked her fans to suggest a new hair color for her, with the options given being pink, purple or blonde.
“I’ve been thinking…it’s about time for ya girl to switch up her signature hair,” Bueckers wrote. “WHAT SHADE SHOULD I DO NEXT?”
She then shared a follow-up post of Madison Reed’s newest hair shade which was inspired by her look. She asked her fans to name a potential purple shade in the brand’s ColorWonder line.
“If I had a signature ColorWonder shade in purple, what would you name it?” she wrote.
It has been clear for a while that Bueckers is going to change her hairstyle to mark her long-awaited arrival in the WNBA, and she spoke to People about it after the draft.
“I think maybe a little slick back ponytail, might be the wave, maybe bun ponytail, but I need to give my hair a break and let it breathe a little bit,” Bueckers said. “So, a break from the braids.”
Basketball fans are very excited to see how Bueckers takes to the league compared to Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese who arrived last season with a similar level of fanfare.
