Paige Bueckers has another historic game despite Dallas loss to Caitlin Clark-less Fever

When Paige Bueckers stepped onto the court for the Dallas Wings, fans watched the former UConn superstar expect electrifying performances.

But on June 28, 2025, she rewrote franchise, and league, history in stunning fashion.

That night, Bueckers became the first player in WNBA history to deliver a box score that included 25 or more points, at least five assists, two steals, two blocks and zero turnovers.

The stat line-25+ PTS, 5+ AST, 2+ STL, 2+ BLK, 0 TOV-virtually defines a perfect performance, showcasing scoring, playmaking, defensive prowess and supreme ball control.

Such a well-rounded night speaks to Bueckers‘s versatility and maturity, even as a rookie adapting to the pace and physicality of the professional game.

Rising star’s journey from college legend to pro trailblazer

Bueckers‘s arrival in Dallas followed a decorated college career at UConn, where she earned unanimous acclaim.

A five-star recruit, she led the Huskies to multiple NCAA championships and dazzled fans with historic shooting splits, 54% field goals, 41% from three and 90% from the line, while maintaining an assisttoturnover ratio of approximately 4.8 to 1.2.

That collegiate pedigree launched her to WNBA stardom. Drafted first overall by the Wings in April 2025, she quickly made an impact.

In her debut, she recorded 10 points; in her second game, she produced 12 points and 10 assists, the fastest doubledouble by a rookie in franchise history.

By her fifth outing, she had already accumulated at least 60 points and 30 assists, a first in league history for any player’s opening five games.

But the June 28 game became her most extraordinary performance yet.

In achieving a flawless stat line, she joined a rarefied air: producing across every facet of the game without a single turnover.

It wasn’t just offensive domination, it was technical perfection. Rare are the players who can score and protect the ball, let alone contribute defensively with blocks and steals. It’s a testament to her court awareness and disciplined mindset.

Deeper significance of the performance

This historic game represents more than impressive numbers; it underscores Bueckers‘s emergence as a well-rounded cornerstone for the Wings.

At just 21 years old, she isn’t simply leading the team, she is setting new benchmarks for how versatile a guard in the WNBA can be.

Her ability to control possessions, evidenced by zero turnovers, while contributing heavily on both ends of the floor signals Hall-of-Fame-level instincts.

As the Wings look to climb the standings, having Bueckers play at this caliber nightly gives the franchise a foundation for success. If she continues delivering performances that blend scoring, smarts, and steely defense, Dallas will have a perennial contender.
