Packers reportedly keen to land Metcalf from the Seahawks with NFL Draft approaching

It looks as though the Green Bay Packers could be in the mix to make a big move ahead of the NFL Draft.

The NFC North side are coming off a season in which they made the playoffs, but were eliminated handily by the Philadelphia Eagles 22-10 in the Wild Card.

One criticism that was levelled at the team throughout the entire season was that they are lacking a true No.1 wide receiver. If recent rumors are anything to by, it appears the Packers are looking to address that issue this offseason.

Packers call Seahawks over star receiver

According to a Packers insider, it looks as though Green Bay have called the Seattle Seahawks and enquired into the availability of DK Metcalf.

The reports go so far as to state the Packers have offered a high pick and a young receiver in order to land the 27-year-old.

The Packers have relied on names like Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs to lead their passing attack in recent years. Watson had a great season in 2024, however he suffered a non-contact injury to his right knee in the final week of the season, throwing question marks over when he will return to the field.

As for Doubs, his play has been up and down. He was also suspended in Week 5 last season after reportedly missing two days of practice.

That offers some insight into why the Packers would be keen to land someone like Metcalf. Time will tell if the Seahawks want to let go of him considering he came just short of 1,000 yards last season.

However, with Metcalf now heading into the final year of the three-year, $72 million extension he signed in 2022, the Seahawks would free up $11 million in cap space should they trade him.
