Before theIndiana Pacers took over Game 6 of the NBA Finals, cameras picked up something fans can’t stop talking about-Pascal Siakam with his head tilted back, eyes rolled up, like he was prepping for an exorcism instead of a basketball game.
The clip quickly hit social media, with fans freaking out. Some called it a “demonic possession,” others said he was “channeling dark energy,” and one tweet that racked up thousands of likes joked, “Everyone else is praying and Siakam’s talking to the underworld.”
But Siakam? He’s not sweating it. When shown the clip after Indiana’s 108-91 blowout win over the Thunder, he cracked up. “They said I was a demon?” he laughed. “I wish I had a 30-point game so I could’ve been like, ‘Yeah, the spirit took over!'”
Turns out, he wasn’t calling on anything supernatural-just struggling with a small pregame habit.“I tried to close my eyes. I’m thinking I’m closing them… but I’m not,” he explained. “It used to happen a lot more. I always have to remind myself: Close your eyes, close your eyes.”
Not exactly a portal to the underworld, but it definitely made for a wild visual.
Siakam Laughs Off the Chaos as Pacers Force Game 7
The moment may have overshadowed his actual performance-16 points and 13 rebounds in a game Indiana completely dominated.Tyrese Haliburton added 14, and the Pacers blew the doors off OKC after a slow start, outscoring them 68-32 over a key stretch.
With Game 7 now headed back to Oklahoma on Sunday-marking the first NBA Finals Game 7 since 2016-Siakam’s eyes will be on the prize. And this time? Fully closed, we hope.
Even SportsCenter couldn’t help but repost the viral moment. And Bleacher Report joked, “If the Pacers win the title, we owe the devil a ring.”
Let’s just say… if Indiana pulls it off, Siakam might want to trademark that look.
