Caitlin Clark‘s excitement for the Indiana Pacers reached new heights following their remarkable victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals, leading to a humoring reaction online.

Tyrese Haliburton delivered a clutch 21-foot jumper that sealed a 111-110 victory for Indiana as the buzzer struck zero at the Paycom Center on June 5, capping off a remarkable comeback from the team.

Trailing by as many as 15 points late in the game, the Pacers staged a dramatic rally to overturn the deficit and with just 0.3 seconds on the clock, their 25-year-old talent confidently took a pull-up jumper that found the net, putting them ahead for the first time and securing the win.

“YOU CANT MAKE IT UP,” posted Clark in astonishment online, with a video clip of the shot. High praise considering the WNBA star’s talent for making three-pointers of her own when she stars for the Indiana Fever.

And her post captured the disbelief and excitement of many fans witnessing the dramatic finish, whilst the Pacers themselves quickly acknowledged Clark‘s enthusiasm, reposting her reaction on Instagram with a smirking face emoji.

Clark was not the only Fever player energized by the Pacers’ hard-fought win. Aliyah Boston, Sophie Cunningham, Natasha Howard, and Brianna Turner all took to social media to share their own reactions.

Basketball is on the up in Indianapolis, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and the community across both men’s and women’s teams proves their is only unity in the city, without a hint of rivalry.

Game 2 of the series is set for Sunday, June 8 and it is expected that Clark and her Fever teammates will be closely following the action, lending their support to the Pacers as the series continues.

Pacers rally to stun Thunder at Paycom

Haliburton‘s game-winning shot capped off an intense contest that saw the Thunder, who hold home court advantage for the opening games, establish a strong 15-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Yet, with the clock winding down, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed a critical two-point attempt with 12 seconds left, allowing the Pacers to secure the rebound and set up their star’s final play of the night.

This decisive basket marked the fourth significant scoring moment for Haliburton in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, who has now made three game-winning shots and one overtime forcing basket to demonstrate clutch talent.

“It’s not the recipe to win,” Haliburton admitted. “We can’t turn the ball over that much. (But) come May and June, it doesn’t matter how you get them, just get them.”

“Some players will say they have it,” Haliburton‘s teammate, Myles Turner, praised his confidence and clutch mentality.

“But there are other players that show it. He wants to be the one to hit that shot. He doesn’t shy away from that moment.”
