Olivia Dunne takes advantage of Paul Skenes’ company in New York on her 23rd birthday to decorate her new apartment in Manhattan

Olivia Dunne celebrated her 23rd birthday in style, taking advantage of a shopping trip in Manhattan with her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, to prepare her new apartment.

The former LSU gymnast documented the occasion on social media, highlighting her birthday excitement and new home décor plans.

With the 2025 season concluded, Paul Skenes accompanied Olivia Dunne on a birthday shopping excursion through New York’s West Village.

Dunne, who recently retired from competitive gymnastics due to a knee injury, shared glimpses of the outing on Instagram, including a shot of her wearing a gold Dolce & Gabbana dress.

She captioned one post: “Early birthday activities,” marking the start of her 24th year.

The trip combined personal and lifestyle moments for Dunne, who has had a breakout year outside gymnastics. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated earlier this year and walked in the magazine’s Runway Show.

Dunne also attended the MLB All-Star Weekend in Atlanta, walking the red carpet alongside Skenes and cheering him on during the All-Star Game with her sister, Julz.

Despite Skenes missing the postseason for the second consecutive year with the Pittsburgh Pirates, his personal season remained highly notable.

The young ace earned his second All-Star selection and continued to solidify his reputation as one of baseball’s premier pitchers.

Skenes’ 2025 campaign was exceptional: a 1.97 ERA across 187.2 innings, 216 strikeouts versus just 42 walks, a .199 opponent batting average, and a 0.95 WHIP.

He set a franchise record for the most strikeouts by a right-handed pitcher in the live-ball era. Skenes will next be in action when the regular season begins once again in March 2026.

The Pirates will be looking to improve upon a 71-92 record (.438) that left them rooted at the foot of the National League Central, a distant 26 wins behind the division-topping Milwaukee Brewers.

Could Paul Skenes extend his Pittsburgh Pirates contract?

Looking ahead, the Pittsburgh Pirates are already contemplating the future of their roster, and Paul Skenes is at the forefront of those discussions approaching the offseason.

Ben Cherington, general manager, recently addressed the possibility of an extension, emphasizing that no formal negotiations have begun but acknowledging Skenes’ significance to the franchise.

“Well it’s obvious that on and off the field he is someone we would want to have for as long as possible,” Cherington said. “Every team would say that.

“He exemplifies in my experience with him, he lives, he walks the walk in every possible way and we need, not every player would do it quite at the level he does.

“But we certainly need even more of that mindset and just approach toward his craft, his approach toward winning, on top of the stuff he does off the field.”
