Olivia Dunne is following in the footsteps of other sports stars by venturing into acting. After leaving gymnastics, Livvy is now looking to make a splash on screen and already has her first role in the pipeline with the new version of Baywatch.
The former LSU gymnast and national championship winner will join the cast of the Fox project. She will reportedly play a cheerleader named Grace, who is said to be jovial and enthusiastic.
It was also reported that her appearance will be recurring. In this way, Dunne makes the leap from advertising to acting. After saying goodbye to gymnastics, she was the advertising figure of Fanatics Sportsbook. She then took acting classes because, as she told People magazine, she was about to take a special professional step
It’s something that I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing it when I was at LSU, but when you’re a student-athlete in college, sport is your main priority; school and sport, but really gymnastics was my main focus
That special step is the reboot of Baywatch, a surprise she gave her followers this week on social media.
Paul Skenes will miss her at the start of the season
The 2026 MLB campaign begins on Thursday, March 26. The Pirates open hostilities against the Mets. The pitching duel in that game will be between Pittsburgh’s Paul Skenes and New York’s Freddy Peralta.
Skenes had planned for Dunne to be in the stands. Likewise, Livvy, his girlfriend, had planned to be there to cheer him on at the opener. The couple’s plans changed because she has to work on the filming of Baywatch.
Baywatch means business
TMZ reported that the first script reading with the entire confirmed cast has already taken place. The show will be headlined by Stephen Amell, who was the star of the Arrow series as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.
- The reboot of the hit 1990s television series will include Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck and David Chokachi.
