It had been some time since Oleksandr Usyk last spoke about his future in boxing, but the Ukrainian champion has finally broken his silence. Usyk confirmed that he plans to continue fighting until the age of 41 while ruling out any possibility of facing rising heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma. His announcement offers long-awaited clarity about his career path and retirement timeline.

Undoubtedly one of the most complete fighters in the heavyweight division, Usyk has built his reputation on a rare blend of speed, strength, and technical precision. His dominance in the ring has earned him recognition as one of boxing’s most respected champions and a defining figure of his generation.

Just three months ago, Usyk added another milestone to his storied career by becoming a triple world champion after defeating Daniel Dubois in London. That victory solidified his place at the top of the heavyweight ranks, and with his latest statements, Usyk has finally put an end to speculation surrounding his next move.

Oleksandr Usyk ends speculation about a fight against Moses Itauma

The power and dominance of Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr Usyk are recognized worldwide. The undefeated heavyweight champion, who boasts an impressive record of 24 wins with 15 knockouts, has never been beaten in the ring. Now at 38 years old, Usyk faces growing speculation about his future – whether retirement is near or who might challenge him next.

Addressing these questions, Usyk finally spoke out to clear the air about recent rumors linking him to a potential fight with rising British talent Moses Itauma. The 20-year-old heavyweight prospect has drawn global attention for his explosive style and rapid rise through the rankings. However, Usyk has firmly ruled out any possibility of facing him in the ring.

Speaking on Ready to Fight, Usyk dismissed the idea of a bout with Itauma. “No, I will not fight Itauma,” he stated. “He’s young, always making fun of me. And he himself said he doesn’t hit grandparents. I can’t say who exactly [I’ll face next], because negotiations are ongoing. I’d be lying if I gave a name.”

Meanwhile, Moses Itauma continues to make headlines as one of boxing’s most exciting prospects. The British fighter currently holds a 13-0 record with 11 knockouts, including a first-round demolition of former world title contender Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia. While fans hoped for a Usyk-Itauma showdown, the Ukrainian champion’s comments make it clear his next challenge lies elsewhere.

Usyk opens up about his future and the next chapter of his career

After more than two decades in the ring, Oleksandr Usyk knows the toll boxing can take on a fighter’s body and mind. At 38, the Ukrainian champion admits the end of his illustrious career is approaching.

“I will fight until I am 41,” the southpaw made clear in a recent interview. Usyk also revealed his post-retirement plans: “Then I will build a sports academy, I will train there and train others,” he said, outlining his vision for life beyond the ring.
