Ohtani’s latest viral tease of Dodgers teammate

The Los Angeles Dodgers are having a dream season in MLB 2025, with a solid record of 55 wins and 32 losses, leading the National League West Division.

These excellent results have permeated a dressing room that is in increasingly better spirits, which has been reflected in camaraderie, jokes and laughter among the members of the Los Angeles team.

During one of the games against the Chicago White Sox, rookie Andy Pages made a defensive error by failing to catch a fly ball, which turned into a double for the rivals. Fortunately, the team managed to pull off a 5-4 victory. But the moment did not go unnoticed by the team’s most charismatic player, Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani teases Andy Pages

Before the next game, during pre-game training, Ohtani was caught doing an exact and exaggerated imitation of Pages‘ error, good-naturedly mocking the play. The video, shared by Dodgers Nation, shows Ohtani laughing as he recreates the action, which generated thousands of reactions on social media. The description of the clip read:

“Shohei Ohtani bothering Andy Pages during practice”.

This fun scene not only showed the good atmosphere in the clubhouse, but also the other side of the Japanese superstar: that of an inveterate prankster who knows how to keep the team’s morale high.

Why is Shohei Ohtani so special?

Although on the field Shohei Ohtani is recognized for his intensity and elite performance, with 30 home runs, 56 RBIs and a 1.015 OPS in just 85 games this season, off the field he shows a much more relaxed and fun side.

Ohtani has made jokes a regular part of his interaction with the team. In July, he posted an old funny photo of Yoshinobu Yamamoto on social media, just a day after his teammate congratulated him on his 30th home run. Even manager Dave Roberts has fallen victim to his jokes, such as when Ohtani gave him a toy Porsche, a joke related to the real car he gave to Joe Kelly’s wife for the number 17, which started a ‘war’ of jokes between the two.

The teammates also agree that Ohtani has a surprising character. Enrique Hernandez described him as “a little kid trapped in the body of a giant”, and Austin Barnes added: “He may seem serious, but he also knows how to joke around. He makes me laugh a lot.” “He has a childlike joy for the game, but he plays it like an adult,” said Blake Treinen, which shows the good atmosphere that has been created in the Los Angeles team, as well as the quick adaptation of the Japanese star with his teammates.
